[Finished] Redemption (BTS - Mafia AU)
  • Hoseok
  • I stood by the ring along with the rest of the members. All of the others tried to look confident but I knew they were worried and anxious. This was a fighting ring and Wild Cat has probably fought plenty of times here before. Whoever this person was, I knew they would have certain experience over Cherry.
  • My own heart was racing out of worry although I’d rather be caught dead than admit that. Still, I could not deny it. Cherry’s shoulder wound has not healed well and it’s only been two days from the fight at the hospital.
  • I knew she could hold her own. I had seen her fight multiple times now – whether sparring against Bangtan members or taking care of the filth that came to hurt Namjoon and his family. She knew her craft and she excelled in it. Yet, I was still worried for her.
  • ‘Are you okay?’ Jimin asked as I turned slightly to see Jimin and Jungkook looking at me.
  • ‘Yeah of course. Why wouldn’t I be?’ I asked as I shrugged, but nodded at the same time. They shared a look before the two of then chuckled slightly. ‘What?’ I said in a gruff voice.
  • ‘Awh hyung, why don’t you admit you’re worried for her?’ Jungkook teased which caused me roll my eyes.
  • ‘I’m not. This is her choice. If she wants to be stupid, then, that is no concern of mine,’ I said as I shifted my weight.
  • ‘Sure,’ Jimin commented just as the “door” opened and Sergei walked in. He was followed by two hooded figures and my eyes fell on Cherry who looked confident in her stride.
  • I turned back to look at Sergei who was smiling like an * and his face alone made me want to cave his face in with a punch. Maybe I could even give him a kick to the stomach while at it.
  • He looked excited because he managed to get a Scarlet into the ring. We all knew he was not lying or bluffing when he said he could make a lot of money out of her. Still, I did not like it.
  • ‘Ladies and gentlemen – it’s time for the last fight of the night and I have a huge surprise for you,’ he said. ‘In one corner, we have the well-known Wild Cat,’ he said as one of the two figures stepped forward and removed his hood.
  • He was tall and pale, but had a mean look to him. His arms were buff and he had tattoos sprawled all over his arms, chest, neck and even face. The back of his bald head had a tiger tattoo and I quickly realised where the name Wild Cat came from.
  • Wild Cat roared as the crowd roared with him. He looked strong but also agile in his stance which made me worried. Cherry was not even half this man’s size!
  • ‘On the other side,’ Sergei began again as soon as the crowds settled. ‘A one-night show and opportunity. Raised in the shadows and with swords in hand, from the Scarlet’s lair, Domina Umbra,’ he said as Cherry stepped forward and removed her hood as well.
  • I could feel the shift in the audience, the gasp of surprise and awe. They all stared at her as she stood there in all her glory. She was wearing her usual skinny black jeans and a black tank top. She had removed her jacket which resulted in her own tattoo showing. Her hair was up in a pony tail, like the first time we had seen her.
  • Everyone was staring at her and I could see Sergei smiling with excitement. ‘Ladies and gents, place your bets,’ he said as everyone took out their phones and participated in the bets. I looked at the screens as I saw the numbers playing. A lot of people were betting on Cherry winning which seemed to annoy and frustrate Wild Cat. Cherry did not show any emotions to the bets as she seemed to keep her focus. A part of me shuddered at the idea of how just her name or title alone was enough to change the tide.
  • ‘I’m going to end you *,’ I heard Wild Cat yell at her. I felt my blood boil at the way he disrespected her and my hands balled into fists. I was almost ready to go and give him a piece of my mind but Yoongi held me back.
  • ‘I know. It bothers me too but whatever happens in that ring, whether she wins or loses, we cannot get involved,’ he said.
  • ‘Why? What if he cheats? Should we just let him beat her up?’ I asked him and he frowned.
  • ‘Hoseok, it’s a matter of honour for her too. She wouldn’t want us to get involved and yes, he will most likely cheat but have some faith in our girl. She knows what she is doing,’ he said.
  • I frowned but nodded as I focused on the people in the ring. ‘Ahh I can see having Domina Umbra here has shifted the betting. Let’s find out who is right and who is wrong. Let the fight begin,’ Sergei yelled out as he quickly scrambled out of the ring, leaving just Cherry and Wild Cat in there.
  • The crowd roared once more as the two fighters stood staring at each other. Wild Cat was smirking confidently, as if he knew he could crush her. Cherry remained poker faced, not letting him know what was going through her brain. After all, she knew her speed, agility and brain are what could get her her win.
  • Wild Cat rushed at her but she quickly dodged. He laughed as he went to punch her but she kept moving back, forcing him to exert his energy. She stopped and kicked once, making him stumble. She kicked again, this time against his face which forced him to fall to his face.
  • I smirked, feeling proud of her while he punched the ring with his fist. He growled as he stood up. ‘You’re dead meat *!’ he roared.
  • ‘Are you sure?’ she taunted back as he came at her at full speed.
  • They collided, two different titans going at it. He was trying to punch and she was using her legs. I had to admit that although Wild Cat was a big guy, he was very agile and very fast. He had all the factors to be a good fighter. I just had to believe she could handle herself.
  • I kept my eyes fixed on her when suddenly he grabbed her arm and twisted it. She fell to her knee as he pulled at it, making her close her eyes as she scrunched her face in pain.
  • ‘Weak, pathetic *. Did you really think you can win against me with a busted shoulder?’ he roared as he jabbed his thumb into her stitches that came undone. Blood poured out of her wound and she winced.
  • ‘*. He’s hurting her,’ I said as I looked at Yoongi who looked furious right now. I wanted so badly to get in there and show Wild Cat who is the weak, pathetic *.
  • Wild Cat pushed her into the mat and she fell face first. He stomped his foot on her back and I saw her clench her hand in pain.
  • ‘COME ON CHERRY!’ I yelled. She opened her eyes and her eyes landed on me. We stayed looking for a few seconds before she suddenly turned around just as he was about to stomp again.
  • She grabbed him by the ankle and twisted his leg so hard that it made him fall to his knee. She got up and kicked at his face, drawing blood from his mouth. He got up and pushed her right into the cage which caused it to rattle. He punched her right across the face, drawing blood from her own lips.
  • I looked at Wild Cat who pulled out something from his pocket. My eyes widened as I realized they were metal rings.
  • ‘LOOK OUT!’ Jimin yelled as he also noticed the rings but it was too late. Wild Cat managed to hit her in the ribs with them. Her eyes went wide for a moment before they turned darker with rage. She slid away as she pulled out her knife from her boots.
  • ‘Now it’s fair,’ she said as she suddenly moved so fast I barely could keep up. I saw her slash at his arm as he roared in pain and then she used the same knife to stab him in the thigh. Blood started gushing out all over the floor and both of them.
  • I stood looking at them as he fell to his knees and she went behind him, her knife to his throat. ‘Forfeit,’ she said.
  • ‘Never,’ he said. She rolled her eyes as she pressed harder. I saw him gulp and I found myself wondering if she would do it or not.
  • ‘You think I won’t do it?’ she asked as she drew a thin line against this neck. The crowd was cheering so loudly, yelling at her to do it.
  • I could admit that I did enjoy a good fight here and there but it made me sick that they would cheer for her to murder someone who was in no position to win.
  • ‘I’d rather die than surrender to you *,’ he said as he smirked. She rolled her eyes and smirked as well.
  • ‘As you wish,’ she said and I sighed but before I could think of anything, I saw her twist the knife and hit him with the hilt against his head, knocking him out of his senses and thus humiliating him while still not killing him.
  • The crowd booed a little while some roared. I looked at her as she stumbled slightly and I hurried into the cage and went to her.
  • ‘Are you okay?’ I said as I helped her out of the cage. She nodded as we made it out of the ring and she stood up straighter. Taehyung approached her with a bottle of water.
  • ‘I appreciate what you did but never put yourself in that position again, okay?’ he asked. She smiled but did not say anything as instead she took a couple of sips.
  • ‘Noted,’ she finally said but all of us knew that there was no promise there. ‘Let’s go to Sergei and see what he has for us,’ she said and Taehyung nodded.
  • We made our way back to the balcony where we were welcomed by claps. Sergei turned around as he leaned against the railing.
  • ‘You are as good as they say but as ruthless as they say. You put up an amazing fight but the ending was disappointing,’ he said.
  • ‘Why? Because I didn’t kill your prized fighter?’ she taunted back but I could see that behind her tough exterior, she was hurting. How was she so good at hiding her pain?
  • ‘Touché Miss Cherry, touché,’ he said as he smirked.
  • ‘Cherry has fought for you so you better keep your end of the deal because she might not have killed him, but she can kill you,’ Taehyung said, somewhat irritated.
  • ‘Well, a deal is a deal and I always keep my promises and unlike Wild Cat, I actually value my life, thank you very much,’ he said as he came closer.
  • ‘Just cut the crap and start talking Sergei,’ I said to which he smiled.
  • ‘Impatient little boys but alas. Domina Rosa wants to go against the Scarlets which I know you are aware of. Before that, she wants to cut off Bangtan’s head which would ally her with Exo, the next big mafia in town,’ he said.
  • ‘We imagined so far. What else?’ Jin asked.
  • ‘She is going after the smaller groups. The newbies, rookies, call them whatever you want. She literally cuts off the leaders’ heads and takes over those groups. So far, she has the Scorpions, Ateez, Oneus and even Mirae,’ he explained.
  • ‘There’s more that you know of,’ Cherry said and he sighed.
  • ‘That information costs higher little Umbra,’ he said with a slight smirk. She laughed before she pulled her sword out. In one swift movement she had him against the railing, half his body almost over, his sword to his neck.
  • His guards were quick to pull out their guns but we were also quick. We pulled out our guns as we all pointed to one another.
  • ‘Tsk, I wouldn’t dare try to touch her,’ Taehyung said, smirking as well. I looked back at Cherry who remained unbothered.
  • ‘Shall I remind you of our deal? I fight and you spill everything. Now tell me, little worm, what is more valuable? Your life or whatever money you can get off of me?’ she asked.
  • ‘O—okay, okay,’ Sergei stuttered as he raised his hands in defence. For the first time, he did not sound cocky or arrogant but actually scared. She pulled him away from the railing but did not remove her sword from his throat.
  • ‘Spill Sergei and don’t leave anything out,’ Taehyung ordered.
  • ‘I know where she is living because it’s in one of my houses, but she’s smart. Probably, she already knows that you’re here, talking to me and she’ll probably either would have left or would be devising a trap for you,’ he said.
  • ‘You leave that up to us. You just give us the address,’ Yoongi said and he nodded.
  • ‘Alexei, write them down the address to the boat house,’ Sergei nodded. Alexei seemed to hesitate for a moment before he nodded and left the room.
  • ‘See? That wasn’t too hard to say, was it?’ Cherry mocked and he frowned.
  • ‘Now I’ll have a target on my head thanks to you lot,’ he replied with a frown.
  • ‘This is why you shouldn’t betray others for money Sergei,’ Jungkook said with a slight amused grin. ‘You dug your own grave,’ he said just as Alexei came back in with a piece of paper.
  • ‘And you’re digging yours by going after her. She’s a completely psycho who is smart as hell. That makes her dangerous,’ he said.
  • ‘You let us worry about that Sergei,’ I said as Taehyung took the paper.
  • ‘Let’s go and Sergei,’ he said, forcing the male to look at him, ‘should I find out you’re lying to us, there will be consequences,’ he said before Taehyung walked out of the balcony.
  • ‘Come on Cherry, let’s go,’ I said as she let go of Sergei and put her sword in her sheath. The two of us started walking outside of the building as we made our way back to the cars waiting outside.
  • We see two sides of Cherry - brutal side but also merciful side. She does not kill without a reason. She knows how to show mercy but she also know how to deal with little *s like Sergei (excuse the language). We see Hoseok being worried for her and the rest of the boys having her back as well. I look forward to your thoughts. Also, I write this blog-like journal about my career and job.
